The City of Piqua will host an opening event for the new pickleball courts at Pitsenbarger Park & Sports Complex on Wednesday, October 8, at 4 p.m.
The Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce will lead a ribbon-cutting ceremony shortly after 4 p.m., followed by a mini-clinic hosted by the Miami County Pickleball Association (MCPA). Association members will present pickleball basics to help new players get on the court and experience the game.
Following the clinic, the courts will be open for play until dusk and will remain open each day during regular park hours, 7 a.m. to dusk. Approximately 30 door prizes will be available for attendees to enter for a chance to win.
In addition, MCPA will host a more comprehensive beginners’ clinic on Saturday, October 11, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the new courts.
The public is encouraged to attend these free community events.
