Square

The City of Piqua has contracted USG Water, Inc. to perform an internal washout and external recoating of the RM Davis Water Tank. Work began this week and continues over the next month.

The tank, located off Robert M. Davis Parkway, is one of three water tanks in Piqua, servicing the western portion of the city.

City water and underground staff have prepared for this work and have modified water valving interconnected to the central pressure zone in anticipation of the RM Davis Tank being offline.

This preparation, along with other supply, pumping and monitoring operational changes, help achieve the goal of keeping water pressures and flows in the normal operating ranges for the western pressure zone.

City staff is in communication with large water users, businesses with fire suppression systems and with Piqua Fire Department regarding this project. RM Davis Water Tank is 20 years old, and this is the first coating after it was constructed and put into service.

The City of Piqua has long-standing preventative maintenance programs for the municipal water tanks with USG Water, Inc., an industry-leading service provider of water tank construction and maintenance work in the United States.
