Recently, some Piqua Power System customers experienced brief power interruptions. These interruptions were caused by accidental animal contact with energized electric distribution equipment in the area of Echo Lake Drive.
To help reduce the chance of similar interruptions in the future, Piqua Power System crews installed additional animal guards in the Echo Lake Drive area this week. These protective coverings provide extra insulation around electrical equipment to prevent accidental contacts that can cause service disruptions.
