The City of Piqua has announced the launch of its 2025 Pavement Program, a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving streets and alleys throughout the city.
Street pavement surfacing treatments, alley resurfacing and curb ramp replacement are scheduled to occur as part of this year’s program.
Crews from the Public Works Department have begun work on repaving the alleys designated for the 2025 program.
The program includes installation of curb ramps that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to improve accessibility for residents with mobility needs. These curb ramps will be installed June through August at intersections and sidewalk crossings along streets that are scheduled to receive pavement surfacing treatments.
Pavement surfacing treatments are scheduled to begin in early September for streets designated for the 2025 program. These streets were chosen due to the condition of the roadways as defined within the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) report completed for the City in 2024. A copy of the PCI report and associated mapping will be available on the City website soon. The City’s efforts are designed to improve road conditions and maintain the safety and reliability of Piqua’s infrastructure.
