[ARCHIVED] Trash, recycling carts to be swapped for new next week

The City of Piqua notifies all residents that Rumpke Waste & Recycling will be replacing trash and recycling carts with new carts over the next several days. Residents are encouraged to place their City of Piqua-branded carts at the curb by Monday, May 12, as the retrieval of old carts will be conducted on the day of regular collection next week.

Unless customers selected otherwise with Rumpke’s customer service, each household will receive a 95-gallon brown trash cart and a 95-gallon green recycling cart. 

Crews will begin delivering new carts on Saturday, May 10 and continue through Thursday, May 15 using the following schedule. Residents should place their Piqua-branded carts at the curb beginning Monday, May 12, for crews to collect and recycle. 

  • Monday collection day: Rumpke cart delivery on Saturday, May 10; City cart removal on Monday, May 12
  • Tuesday collection day: Rumpke cart delivery on Monday, May 12; City cart removal on Tuesday, May 13
  • Wednesday collection day: Rumpke cart delivery on Tuesday, May 13; City cart removal on Wednesday, May 14
  • Thursday collection day: Rumpke cart delivery on Wednesday, May 14; City cart removal on Thursday, May 15
  • Friday collection day: Rumpke cart delivery on Thursday, May 15; City cart removal on Friday, May 16
