The City of Piqua announces a pause on the implementation of its Rental Registration Program due to recent legislative changes in state and federal law that require additional review and consideration.

Piqua City Commission approved the Rental Registration Program in 2023, and implementation was planned for 2025. During the pause, the City will continue to evaluate the best way to implement the program, assuring that it meets all current state laws and statutes.

In the meantime, if renters have questions about their rights, fair housing standards or requirements, or if they feel the property they rent is not meeting the City of Piqua property maintenance code, they can contact the City of Piqua Community Services Department at 937.778.2049.

The City of Piqua is committed to preserving and promoting the quality of existing rental housing stock in the community and upholding Fair Housing Standards and will provide further updates on the Rental Registration Program once they are available.
