The Piqua Center and the City of Piqua jointly announce a change in venue for the community’s Fourth of July festival. Piquafest will take place from 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4 at Piqua Center, 987 E. Ash St., Piqua.
The event, formerly named Fourth Fest, was begun by volunteers years ago and held at Fountain Park. The City of Piqua managed the event downtown for the past seven years.
“Piquafest will offer even more entertainment and fun for all ages than ever before!” said Helga Leap, facility and sales manager for Piqua Center. “We will have a full-sized carnival with rides and games, a car show, live music, face painting, food trucks, vendors and more. We are excited to welcome the community to celebrate Independence Day with us!”
Piqua City Manager Paul Oberdorfer said the location offers ample parking and space for attendees. Piqua Center also has air-conditioned indoor space to allow attendees to have a respite from the summer heat, which the previous downtown location did not offer.
The City of Piqua will continue to sponsor the incredible fireworks show that begins at 10 p.m. and is supporting the Piquafest event to ensure its success.
“Piqua Center offers an ideal vantage point for the fireworks launched from Hollow Park that the City invests in each year for the community’s enjoyment,” Oberdorfer said. “With ample parking and a mix of indoor and outdoor venue space, Piqua Center is well-situated for an event of this scale. We are proud to partner with Piqua Center to continue this celebration for Piqua residents and visitors as we celebrate the Fourth of July together!”
